1,975 families of Maranao evacs get humanitarian aid
A total of 1,975 families or 11,850 persons of Maranao evacuees hosted in Iligan city get humanitarian aid from EcoWEB Inc. and its international partners as of June 27, 2017. 563 families of evacuees receive micro cash, food packs assistance
Five hundred sixty three Maranao families in the evacuation centers of four barangays in Iligan city receive micro-cash and food packs assistance from Community-led Emergency Action Response Network (CLEARNet), a collaboration initiated by Ecoweb Inc.
These 563 families are among the 266,000 residents who fled from Marawi city when violence between the government troops and local radical extremists erupted on March 23.
The micro-cash grant and food pack assistance, consisting of one kilo dried fish and 1/4 kilo of red beans, were opted by the beneficiaries considering the period of Ramadhan and to veer from usual can goods-and-noodles served during displacement. READ FULL STORY HERE.
580 Manobo families in Agusan Sur receive humanitarian assistance
About 580 families in five upland sitios and two marshland communities of Agusan del Sur receive humanitarian intervention from Ecoweb Inc. and Save Mindanao Volunteers Inc. (SMVI) in partnership with Cordaid and Local2Global Protection (L2GP) on March-April 2017.
Majority of the beneficiaries are Manobo constituents of Lapaz and Bunawan towns of the province. They are survivors of a flashflood which devastated river communities and inundated the Agusan Marshland basin after typhoon Auring hit the province on January 6, 2017. The flashflood was exacerbated by continued heavy rain brought by tail end of the cold fronts and low pressures, consequentially raising the water level further at 20 feet at the marshland. 63 quake survivors in Surigao Norte avail micro grants for reconstruction, repair
Sixty three earthquake survivors enjoy micro-cash grants for the reconstruction or repair of their damaged houses following the magnitude of 6.7 earthquake on the night of February 10, 2017 which destroys infrastructures and properties within the region of Surigao.
The beneficiaries are residents of poblacion, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte, a fifth class municipality. The municipality happens to be located in a region considered by PhilVOLCS as “seismically active area” in the Philippines. READ FULL STORY HERE.
